A number of Australian State governments have introduced control bodies to regulate certain aspects of Muaythai competition in Australia.
Tom Hunter, the Registrar of the South Australian control body kindly agreed to talk about his role and government intervention generally.
These control measures have focussed on health checks of athletes for diseases like Hepatitis and AIDS. Some States require MRI tests to be performed.
